JJ Malibu Underwear Review (Warning: Semi-NSFW/ Lots of Pasty Flesh)
When it comes to sexy, fun underwear, JJ Malibu is one of the brands that comes to mind. Branded as circuit party-ready apparel, sexy underwear is their specialty. Their briefs, jockstraps, bikinis, and fantasy briefs (which have the cut and silhouette of briefs but with a jockstrap-style cutout in the back) come in a wide range of colors and patterns. They're the go-to choices for dozens of circuit party goers, go-go dancers, and OnlyFans performers alike... but how do they measure up outside of sex appeal?
Here's what we think.
Video Recap: What do they look like on an average body?
As mentioned above, style is one of the main selling points for JJ Malibu. They make underwear and accessories that just look good. To put it simply, their patterns are fun. They don't shy away from being tongue-in-cheek or embracing gay culture, both of which are things I enjoy in a brand.
Of the pieces from the collection that I tried, I was incredibly pleased with how they looked on my body. Both the American Flag briefs and the floral print, lace trunks did favors to my ass– I do my squats for a reason, and both of these pieces of underwear complimented my gym efforts.
They both also drew the eye with their patterns. 9 times out of 10, I prefer minimalistic designs and clean simplicity. The products I got from JJ Malibu fall into that 1 out of 10 times category in which I prefer more intricate patterns.
The briefs, the trunks, and the shorts all three created a silhouette that worked well for me. As someone with long legs, I feel like they showcased my best features well. That being said, I wouldn't particularly recommend the lace, floral trunks for someone with short legs– because they are closer to being a boxer-brief length, they run the risk of giving your legs a chopped-off, boxy look.
As an exception to my exception, however, I'd say that if you're heading to White Party and wearing those with a white harness as your outfit, you'll look great. When worn as a standalone piece, they'd look great as a pair of tight, sexy shorts.
In addition to looking great, I was really pleased with the quality of these pieces as well. Each piece was quite comfortable, especially the American Flag briefs. These briefs felt really similar to a modal or micro-modal brief even though they're a synthetic polyester composition.
On that note, I will say that one of the drawbacks for me was that the polyester used for the flag-print briefs is quite thin. They fit comfortably against the body and don't get bulgy beneath jeans, but the thinness of the fabric make them essentially see-through on the body. When recording my review, I didn't want to use the bulge pad in those briefs, but after watching back my first take... my dick was visible for the world to see. It's a preference of mine to keep the goods somewhat shrouded in mystery, so I wasn't super thrilled that I had to put the pad in to conceal my genitals on camera. The semi-transparent quality is great for moments when you want someone to (consensually) see what you're packing (hey, boys of Grindr... how are you doing?), but for daily wear, I'd prefer a bit more coverage.
The visibility of my genitalia aside, I was really happy with the quality of the pieces I got. They fit well, hold up well after several washes, and don't have harsh seems or tags to make them uncomfortable.
Most pieces of underwear on JJ Malibu's website run around $20 to $25. This does put them in the bracket of being slightly more expensive than average, but they're certainly close to the median and not exorbitantly overpriced by any stretch of the imagination. For the pieces that are 100% polyester, I would like to see the price dropped to closer to the $16 to $18 range, but it's important to point out that that is the range that a lot of their pieces are in once they're no longer in the "new release" category. So, I would say that across the board, the prices for JJ Malibu average out to be right in the sweet spot for what they're offering.
Overall, I'm incredibly happy with my JJ Malibu pieces. The underwear, the shorts, the harness, and even the bulge pad that I got are all pieces that I'm glad to have in my wardrobe now. As I've been writing this review, I've also been browsing their website for more pieces to buy.
I definitely recommend checking out their new arrivals, too: https://jjmalibu.com/collections/new-arrivals
One of my few critiques of JJ Malibu is that their models and branding are very "ideal body" focused. As much as I love some good eye candy, I'll confess that I was initially intimated about trying JJ Mallibu, as I felt that I wasn't fit enough to pull it off. Once I got the pieces and tried them on, however, I loved the way they looked and complimented my body. So, all of that is to say that even though their branding is catered to a very specific body type, I would advise that you try it out regardless of your body type; sexy underwear isn't reserved for OnlyFans models and fitness gurus. Every ass deserves some lift and lace from time to time.
