How To Feel Better and Fix Lower Back Pain

Chronic lower back pain can debilitate you and leave you unable to walk or do hardly anything. You may also feel as though there are no solutions—no matter what you do, the pain never seems to go away. Here’s how to feel better and fix lower back pain so you can get back to feeling like yourself again.

Stay Active

This is one of the hardest things to do when you have chronic lower back pain, but it’s one of the best ways to manage the condition. Sitting still and lying on the couch won’t aggravate the situation, but over time, it will worsen your ability to cope with it as your muscles weaken. However, staying active and getting on your feet a little bit every day will help your overall health and create more long-term support for your spine.

Here is the routine I used to help my lower back pain if you want to try it out. It’s focused on strengthening key postural muscles and increasing stability and mobility.

Stretch the Muscles and Focus on Posture

Another excellent way to manage your lower back pain is to develop your muscles and actively emphasize your posture. Stretching can feel like you’re hurting your back, but if you do it every day, your strength and flexibility will grow, and the lower back pain will be less present.

Regarding posture, it’s easy to relax into more comfortable positions, but this slouching can worsen the condition over time. A strong posture will keep pressure off your back and develop the muscles you need to keep the pain at bay.

Relax in a Hot Tub

Thankfully, this won’t put you in some temporary discomfort, unlike our other suggestions. Relaxing in a hot tub will take tremendous pressure off your entire body. A hot tub helps lower back pain because the warm water reduces inflammation, the jets serve as a back massage, and the water reduces the effects on your joints. Reduce the pressure on your back and feel whole again.

You could even take hot tub time further and try alternating between a hot tub and an ice bath. The switch between temperature extremes can shock the system, but in my experience, it’s great for feeling rejuvenated and getting knotted muscles to loosen.

Figuring out how to feel better and fix lower back pain can be a difficult endeavor, but these methods will surely help right now and help you feel better in the long run.
